Who Will Be The Next Rangers Manager?

Philippe Clement only joined Rangers in October 2023, but having finished eight points adrift of Celtic in the league last season and already playing catch-up in the 2024/25 campaign – then the vultures are starting to circulate above Ibrox.

Many football experts are predicting the Scottish League Cup Final on December 15th as the date Philippe Clement could be shown the Rangers door – if they don’t beat bitter rivals Celtic.

Rangers have only won the SPL title once since the 2010-11 season and having finished runner-up in the last three, fans (and the board) at Ibrox are wanting more.

There are many familiar names on the next Rangers manager odds list – including two former England internationals, one of which also have a big history at Rangers.

Sean Dyche Emerges As New Favourite To Be The Next Rangers Manager

Having been shown the door by Everton in early January, the new name topping the list in the next Rangers manager betting odds market is Sean Dyche.

Dyche had been under pressure at Goodison Park for much of his time at the Merseyside club, since he joined them back in 2023.

He only just avoided getting them relegated that season, when they finished 17th, while the 2023/24 campaign was a similar story when they ended up 15th.

With another average start to the 2024/25 season, the Everton bosses finally called time on Dyche’s career at the Toffeeman on January 9th 2025 – just hours before they were due to play Peterborough in the FA Cup third round.

This all now means Dyche is a free agent and so he’s sure to be on the radar of other clubs that also have managers under pressure – like Rangers.

Prior to his time at Everton, Dyche was in charge at Watford and then made his name during a successful ten year spell at Burnley between 2012 and 2022.

As a result the best betting sites in the UK has installed Sean Dyche as the new market leader in the next rangers manager odds market – should the Gers part ways with Philippe Clement.

Gareth Southgate Another Fancy In The Next Rangers Manager Odds Market

The SportsCasting traders – as well as the prices from the best football betting sites in the UK – are making former England player and manager Gareth Southgate the second favourite to be the next Rangers manager to replace Philippe Clement.

Southgate called time on his England manager role after his Three Lions suffered their second Euro final defeat in the summer and has been out of work since.

This spell on the sidelines has been Southgate’s choice – having said he wanted a break. However, many are suggesting that Southgate could be ready to return to the dugout if the right offer came about.

During his time at England, Southgate was in charge of 102 games – winning 61, drawing 24 and losing 17.

While he’s no stranger to managing at club level – having been the Middlesborough boss between 2006 and 2009.

Could Rangers Turn To A Former Manager?

The best betting sites in the UK are also suggesting that former manager Steven Gerrard – who was in charge at the SPL club between 2018 and 2021 before he left to join Aston Villa.

Gerrard is currently at Saudi side Al-Ettifaq, but there are rumours that his time in the Middle East might be hanging by the balance – which could pave the way for a Rangers manager return.

During his time at Rangers Steven Gerrard won the SPL title (2021-21) and remains the last manager to win the league with Rangers. During that season the former Liverpool man also led Rangers to back-to-back derby victories over Celtic and won the title without losing a single game – bagging 102 points and only letting in 13 goals in the league.

Former Player Kevin Muscat Also Not Ruled Out In Next Rangers Manager Market

Just behind Southgate and Gerrard in the next Rangers manager betting odds market is former player Kevin Muscat.

Australian Muscat played 22 times for Rangers between 2002 and 2003 but has since managed in his homeland at Melbourne Victory.

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes and Jimmy Thelin, who is impressing at Aberdeen are also not ruled out at 9/1 and 12/1 respectively.

Commentary: sportscasting.com/uk spokesman Andy Newton, reacted to our Rangers Manager Odds’ saying:

“You feel a job like Rangers could entice Gareth Southgate back to the dugout a big earlier than some might have thought.

“With Sean Dyche now a free agent after leaving Everton, it’s no shock to see his name now in the market – but you feel he might just need a breather before getting into another manager’s hotseat.

“Therefore, with Steven Gerrard already having a strong history and connection at the club – he looks the safer call with his tenure at Al-Ettifaq seemingly under a bit of pressure at the moment.
