Next man up mentality helps Georgia silence critics vs. Tennessee

The 31-17 win over the Tennessee Volunteers was huge for the Georgia Bulldogs. Three Georgia players, who are going to play a crucial role moving forward, stepped up against Tennessee.

Tight End Oscar Delp

Before the game, Oscar Delp’s season total were nine catches for 119 yards. Delp was huge contributor in the win. He went for four catches 56 yards and two touchdowns. Delp showcased his talent and came up clutch when it mattered most especially after Dillon Bell went out with an injury. His performance was a key factor in securing the victory, proving his value as a reliable playmaker.

Outside Linebacker Chaz Chambliss

Chaz Chambliss has been a key contributor since his freshman year at Georgia and he had his best performance pass rushing performance of his career against Tennessee. Chambliss recorded four tackles, two sacks, and two tackles for losses helped the defense shut out Tennessee’s offense in the second half.

He also checked into the game as a fullback and delivered a crucial block to help running back Nate Frazier get into the endzone for the lead to be extended to 31-17. Chambliss is now tied with Jalon Walker for the team lead in sacks with five and 1/2.

Offensive Tackle Monroe Freeling

The left tackle position was questioned after Earnest Greene’s performance in last week’s loss against the Ole Miss Rebels. Monroe Freeling earned his first career start against a strong Tennessee defensive line led by future first-round pick James Pearce Jr. He excelled in protecting Carson Beck’s blindside, playing a key role in the offensive line’s outstanding performance, which allowed no sacks.
