Next Man City Manager Odds Market: Who'll Follow Pep Guardiola

After a shacky start to the 2024-25 season, the next Man City manager odds market is getting plenty of interest with many football experts feeling this campaign could be the last for Pep Guardiola.

With that in mind, the oddstraders here at SportsCasting have priced up the most likely candidates to be the next Man City manager – with plenty of familiar names on the list.

Who Will Be The Next Man City Manager? Girona Boss Michel One Of The Big Fancies

According to the odds team at SportsCasting and the best football betting sites in the UK – the name topping the list to replace Pep Guardiola at Man City is Michel.

The current Girona manager has caught the eye of many of the big European sides after winning promotion with all three clubs – Rayo, Huesca and Girona – that he’s been in charge at.

Last season he guided Girona to finish third behind Spanish big-guns Real Madrid and Barcelona – with his side banking only four points fewer than Barca. As a result, Girona won a place in the Champions League for the 2024-25 campaign.

Many feel the 49 year-old Spaniard is now ready to make the leap to take charge at one of the heavyweight football sides in Europe and so it’s not hard to see why he’s currently the favourite to be the next Man City manager at 4/1.

Other Next Man City Manager Candidates Include Xabi Alonso and Former Player Vincent Kompany

Just behind Michel in the next Man City manager odds market are two more recognisable faces.

Xabi Alonso had been linked with the vacant Liverpool job in the summer, but the former Reds player is still at the helm at Bayer Leverkusen, where he romped away with the Bundesliga title last season.

He’s on offer a 11/2 and the general second favourite with the best betting sites in the UK.

Many are also tipping an old playing favourite at the Etihad – Vincent Kompany – to head back as the next Man City manager.

Since hanging up his playing boots, Kompany has managed at Burnley and despite getting them relegated from the Premier League, top German side Bayern Munich still came calling for his services.

The Belgium has made a decent time at Munich and at the time of writing are yet to lose a league game in the 2024-25 season.

However, if Pep Guardiola does vacate his role at City, then Vincent Kompany, who played 265 times for City, is sure to be one of the main ones batted around to replace him.

Commentary: sportscasting.com/uk spokesman Andy Newton, reacted to our Next Man City Manager’ odds saying:

“With all the off-field shenanigans at City, plus losing one of their star men Rodri to injury, the pressure is mounting on manager Pep Guardiola.

“This is backed up with the Premier League champs losing three games in-a-row at the end of October and early November – which is adding more airtime to ‘who will be the next Man City manager’ should (and when) Pep calls it a day.

“There are many big names on the odds list but having done so well with a Spanish manager at the helm for the last eight years, it’s no surprise to see two of the best managerial talents from this country – Michel and Alonso – propping up the market.
