Steve Cooper Favourite In The Next Luton Manager Betting Odds Market
Championship side Luton are on the hunt for a new head coach so the SportsCasting traders, along with the best football betting sites in the UK, have priced up the most-likely candidates – with Steve Cooper the betting favourite at 9/4.
Cooper is fresh off a five-month stint at Premier League side Leicester City. He was appointed manager after their promotion to the top-flight in June but left in November after just two wins from 12 league games.
He did an excellent job before that at Nottingham Forest. Cooper joined the club in September 2021 when they were bottom of the Championship.
Eight months later they were promoted to the Premier League after winning the Championship play-off final. He just about kept Forest in the Premier League in their first season back in the top-flight, before he was sacked by them in December 2023.
Cooper also guided Swansea City to the play-off final during his time at the Swans. His excellent pedigree in the Championship could be tempting for a Luton side who are just two points above the relegation zone.
Matt Bloomfield A Strong Contender For Luton Job
Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield is another contender in the next Luton manager betting market going by his 11/4 odds.
Bloomfield is doing an exceptional job with the Chairboys who are in an automatic promotion spot in League One as things stand.
He returned to Wycombe in February 2023, when club legend Gareth Ainsworth left after 11 years in charge. He does have strong connections to Wycombe after being a former captain of the club.
Bloomfield has previously been linked with roles at Coventry, Oxford and Millwall after impressing at Adams Park.
A mid-season departure could be disastrous for Wycombe’s promotion hopes but work wonders for Luton in their efforts to climb up the Championship table.
Sean Dyche and Gary O’Neil Outsiders In Next Luton Manager Betting Market
There are some interesting names further down the list in the next Luton manager betting odds market.
Neil Harris, who recently left Millwall, is considered third-favourite at odds of 6/1.
Sean Dyche who lost his job at Everton on the same day Luton announced Edwards’ departure is a wide outsider at 20/1.
Another notable name towards the bottom of the list is former Wolves boss Gary O’Neil at 25/1.
