We’re already almost half way through 2023 and as we edge closer to summer we will hopefully see even brighter evenings and hopefully warm weather.
Summer holidays are already on the minds of many people across Ireland who may be tempted to use bank holidays to make the most of booking time off work.
Most employees are entitled to paid leave for them under the Organisation of Working Time Act, while schools also close.

Ireland has 10 bank holidays this year and five have fallen already - New Year’s Day, St Brigid’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, Easter Monday and May Day.
This year saw the introduction of a new public holiday for St Brigid’s Day. Going forward, it will be held annually on the first Monday in February.
The next bank holiday falls next Monday, June 5 which is the June bank holiday.
After that, people will have to wait two months for the next one which is on August 7.
Then there will just be three more - the October bank holiday, Christmas Day and St Stephen’s Day
