Next Hibs manager latest as Jon Dahl Tomasson 'on the shortlist' with targets taking shape

Former Malmo boss John Dahl Tomasson has reportedly joined the list of managers being considered for the vacant Hibs job.

The Easter Road club have been on the lookout for a new boss since Shaun Maloney was dismissed in December.

A huge list of potential candidates have been linked but speculation has cooled over the likes of Roy Keane, Paul Clement and Phillip Cocu.

Record Sport reported this week that Lee Johnston is the frontrunner but it's believed the club are yet to make a final call with Karl Robinson and Michael Appleton still in the picture.

And now The Scotsman claim that Tomasson IS being considered alongside them.

Known to fans in Scotland for leading the Malmo side who eliminated Steven Gerrard's Rangers from the Champions League,

He left the Swedish side in January after leading them to a second league title on the bounce.

Tomasson was briefly linked with the Celtic post before Ange Postecoglou took the job and he'd be viewed as a substantial coup for Hibs if they could get him over the line.

But Johnston remains the frontrunner at this stage having undergone a second interview
