A Saudi private consortium, led by Saudi Media, have contacted Roman Abramovich over their interest in purchasing Chelsea Football Club.
As first reported by Goal, the Saudi group have expressed their interest in the sale of the Blues, with Abramovich confirming in a statement last week that he will be selling the west London club.
The likes of Todd Boehly and Hansjorg Wyss' US-Swiss consortium have too made their interest known - with Abramovich valuing the club at £3billion.
But who are the latest consortium to show an interest in Chelsea Football Club? football.london profiles Saudi Media following their contact with Abramovich on Sunday.
Who are Saudi Media?
At this moment, the individual backers are still unknown. Saudi Media, though, are a company that is linked with funding media, sporting brands and advertising across the world.
What Saudi Media focus on is the pan-Arab broadcasting market, with the company owning offices in Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
Chelsea are reluctant to sell the club to a group that has political or geographical ties that could be considered problematic.
Other interested parties
As mentioned above, Boehly and Wyss have both made their interest in Chelsea FC known and could be put on alert by this latest development.
Meanwhile, according to ESPN, New York Jets owner Robert "Woody" Johnson is preparing an offer for the European champions, with the businessman already contacting Raine Group, who are in charge of selling the west London club, over the possible purchase.
The report claims that Johnson possesses plenty of knowledge of Chelsea and the Premier League. The 74-year-old has previously lived in London, where he served as the United States ambassador.
