Next Celtic manager latest as David Moyes in pole position to replace Postecoglou

David Moyes has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Ange Postecoglou as Celtic manager.

The West Ham boss was the early favourite for the role before Brendan Rodgers emerged as a strong contender.

However, Moyes has now been made favourite for the post should Postecoglou move to Tottenham.

Postecoglou has reportedly been granted permission to discuss a move to the Premier League club after a formal approach.

And it's widely expected Postecoglou will make the switch to North London after sealing a domestic treble at Celtic this season.

Now Moyes - who leads West Ham into the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday - has regained top spot with bookies to take over at Parkhead.

However, he claimed he hadn't considered a move to Celtic when he was quizzed on the job speculation.

On Friday, he said: “I’ve never even considered it.

“I’m West Ham manager and I’m really enjoying my period here.

“I’m hopefully trying to continue growing a really good football club so I’ve not given it any consideration.

“Through my years I’ve been linked with lots of jobs at different times but I have to say I’m really happy at the moment and I’m settled where I am.

“The club have been so good to me and we’re enjoying the journey we’re on.”
