Who Will Be The Next Celtic Manager?
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is currently in his second spell at the heavyweight Scottish Premier League side – and guided then to another SPL title and the Scottish Cup last season.
However, Rodgers is always on the radar of other top European football clubs.
So, if the right offer came about, then the current Celtic head coach could easily exit the Hoops.
Especially as the former Liverpool manager has made it no secret that a return to the Premier League at some point would be on his agenda.
The SportsCasting traders – as well as the prices from the best football betting sites in the UK – are always being updated in the next Celtic manager odds market.
Ex-Ireland International Damien Duff Heads The Next Celtic Manager Odds Market
Former Irish international Damien Duff, who also played for Blackburn and Fulham, has emerged as the front-runner to take over from Brendan Rodgers at Celtic after impressing as manager of Shelbourne.
Duff has recently guided Shelbourne to their first League of Ireland title since 2006 in early November. When beating Derry City 1-0 at the Brandywell.
There is also some Celtic links for Damien Duff, as the Irishman was reserve team coach at the SPL champions back in 2019. Plus was also appointed first team coach under the then manager Neil Lennon.
That season Celtic won a ninth straight league title and their fourth League Cup on the bounce.
Many are suggesting Damien Duff is not far away from landing one of the bigger football manager jobs and with his past Celtic connections, it’s no shock to see him heading this market.
Should, of course, the Hoops part ways with Brendan Rodgers.
Other Celtic Manager Options See David Moyes and Scott Brown High Up The Market
The best betting sites in the UK are also saying former West Ham manager David Moyes would not be out of the running in the next Celtic manager odds market. He’s the general second favourite.
Moyes hasn’t been in managerial action since leaving West Ham at the end of the 2023-24 season and since then has been linked with a number of the top coaching jobs.
Surprisingly, Scotsman Moyes is yet to take charge of any football club north of the border during his career as a manager. However, being a Celtic fan as a kid, then guiding the SPL champs would surely be top of his list.
Another name being linked to be the next Celtic manager is Scott Brown. The former player racked-up over 400 appearances for the SPL giant and is currently catching the eye as manager of Ayr United.
Former Celtic Manager Ange Postecoglou 16/1 For Hoops Return
Norwegian coach Kjetil Knutsen has been touted in the past too. He’s currently at Bodø/Glimt.
Jesse Marsch is another who has been suggested as the next Celtic manager before. Plus Jimmy Thelin is doing a top job at Aberdeen.
While the Celtic manager before Brendan Rodgers was Ange Postecoglou and after a mixed start at Tottenham. Could he head back to the Hoops at 16/1?
Commentary: sportscasting.com/uk spokesman Andy Newton, reacted to our ‘Celtic Manager Odds’ saying:
“Of course, Celtic are right bang in the SPL title race as normal, so current boss Brendan Rodgers is not under any pressure to leave.
“However, the former Liverpool manager is always being linked with many of the top jobs around Europe and if the right offer came up – Rodgers could easily be persuaded to leave Scotland.
“If he did, then Celtic are no strangers to employing past managers, so Ange Postecoglou returning at 16/1 isn’t ruled out after his topsy-turvy reign at Spurs.
“But it’s also no shock to see the younger Damien Duff at the top of the market after impressing at Shelbourne. Plus, with his past Celtic links as reserve team coach, the former Chelsea player could be ready for the biggest SPL manager’s job going.
