Graham Potter’s move to Chelsea has opened up another Premier League managerial vacancy and Steve Cooper’s name is firmly in the frame.
The Nottingham Forest manager is second favourite for the role with Sky Bet, priced at 4/1.
Cooper is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal at the City Ground and is now into the final 12 months of the two-year contract he signed last September.
The 42-year-old’s star has been in the ascendancy since then, with Forest rising from the foot of the Championship to the Premier League via the play-offs.

And with Cooper’s footballing philosophy very much in the mould of Potter, it is no surprise to see him being talked up as a potential Seagulls boss.
Forest fans fearing Cooper’s departure can take heart from the fact he is behind FK Bodo/Glimt head coach Kjetil Knutsen in the market.
The 53-year-old has led the minnows to successive Norwegian titles and oversaw a 6-1 win over Jose Mourinho’s Roma in last season’s Europa Conference League.
Knutsen is available at 7/2.
Luton manager Nathan Jones (8/1), Brendan Rodgers (10/1) and Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou (12/1) come next in the betting.
Andrew Crofts has taken on the role of interim head coach at Brighton following Potter’s departure.
