The Office for Products, Safety and Standards (OPSS) has recalled products this month due to various risks they pose to customers.
Some of the safety fears include risk of injury, drowning, fire and carbon monoxide. Next and other retailers are recalling a number of its products.
When the OPSS issues a recall, it shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, what is happening with the item, as well as detailed information on why the product is being pulled from shelves.

Pure Electric Advance and Advance+ E Scooters (2305-0044)
Type: Machinery - E Scooter
Hazard: The affected models have been recalled as it has been identified that some handlebar grips can become loose, posing a potential risk of injury

Product Description: E-scooters available in the colours black, light grey, metallic grey or platinum
Corrective action: Recall of the product
Bluebell Baby Monitors (2305-0084)
Type: Electrical appliances and equipment - baby monitor
Hazard: The app that supports the monitor system is no longer functioning correctly. This means there is a potential risk of the child not being monitored correctly.

Next Hippo Tea Light Lantern (2305-0064)
Type: Decorative articles - lantern
Brand: Next
Hazard: The product presents a risk of fire as the screw which holds the metal wire and glass tealight recess can come loose and drop. If this occurs when a lit candle is in the holder, the lit candle could set fire to the surrounding area.
The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

Hazard: The product presents a serious risk of drowning due to the absence of independent conformity assessment to demonstrate the product will perform when required

Corrective action: The products have been recalled from end users by Fox International Group Ltd
Glen Dimplex Home Appliance Ltd manufactured Belling, Stoves and New World Gas Range Cookers with Gas Grill (110, 100 and 90 models) (2205-0240)
Type: Gas appliances - gas range cookers with gas grills
Brand: Glen Dimplex Home Appliance Ltd
Hazard: Certain Belling, Stoves and New World gas range cookers with gas grill manufactured by Glen Dimplex Home Appliances used with the grill door closed can cause extremely dangerous levels of carbon monoxide to be produced, which can pose a significant risk to health and death.
Product Description: Multiple models of Glen Dimplex Home Appliance Ltd manufactured gas cookers with gas grill, including brand names Stoves, Belling and New World.
Product identifiers: Models affected by this safety warning include 110, 100 and 90cm models. Products in scope of this safety warning have been purchased at any time between 2010 and 2022.
Corrective action: GDHA have initiated a modification programme for products in scope of the safety issue. Consumers are warned until the modification has been completed, consumers must only use the gas grill with the grill door open.
