LEGAL RIGHTS is fancied to rack up a hat-trick of wins by beating 10 opponents for the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (2.00) at Huntingdon on Friday.
After a second at Fontwell Park in December on his handicap hurdles bow, the Gary Moore-saddled son of Hunter’s Light went one better at the West Sussex course on Boxing Day, holding Global Agreement by half a length.
Carrying a 7lb penalty for that success, Legal Rights followed up at Hereford nine days later, having the same margin to spare over Alberic.
My selection, racing over obstacles for the seventh time, is a further 7lb higher here, but the pair were 19 lengths clear of the third horse and Alberic has since gone one better.
Later on the Huntingdon card, BELLS OF PETERBORO has plenty going for him in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (3.10).
Tim Vaughan’s grey took a step forward from his return-to-action third at Ffos Las in November with a 22-length hammering of his rivals at Chepstow two days after Christmas.
Given the authority of that win, the handicapper’s reaction - Bells Of Peterboro is 8lb higher - could have been a lot worse, and another good run is on the cards.
