VAYNOR (8.00, nap) is fancied to make a winning Polytrack debut for trainer Charlie Hills at Chelmsford on Tuesday evening.
The improving three-year-old has recorded three wins from nine this year and gave his best display yet when easily landing a 11-runner 1m6f handicap at Southwell last month.
Under a confident ride from this evening's jockey Kevin Stott, my selection made steady headway from the rear before going clear in the final furlong and winning by five lengths from Yagan.
Previous to that, also over a mile and three-quarters at Nottingham in September, Vaynor was beaten only by a neck by Blistering Barney.
His weight-for-age allowance helps to combat his latest rise in the handicap and he looks the one to beat in the Betsi Handicap over one furlong shorter.
At Lingfield, get on OZZIE Man (3.00, nb) in the At The Races App Form Study Novices’ Handicap Chase.
The former Point-to-Point winner ran reasonably well over hurdles without winning for trainer Gary Moore but stepped up on that when making a successful chase debut over two and a half miles at Plumpton last month.
The son of Ask ran on well from the last and has been crying out a longer distance.
Today’s trip of nearly three miles should be ideal.
