BOBHOPEORNOHOPE (1.15) can star at Ludlow today by winning the Tanners Claret Handicap Chase over three miles.
Kim Bailey’s seven-year-old enjoyed the switch from hurdles to the bigger obstacles last season, winning at Market Rasen on Boxing Day. He then scored a six-length victory over course and distance in February, before being just held by a short head to Tide Times, once again over course and distance the following month.
After an eight-month layoff, he ran well when blowing the cobwebs off to finish third at Ascot last month, and he should be fit and ready to run another big race at what appears to be his favourite track.
THE WIDDOW MAKER (2.50) scored at Exeter on his novice chase debut in February and has run consistently well ever since. He was not disgraced in Grade 1 company at Aintree on his last run of last term, finishing 15 lengths third behind Millers Bank and War Lord.
A step up to three miles did not suit at Cheltenham on his seasonal bow and he was far happier over 2m 3f when second at Newbury last month.
Joe Tizzard drops him to the minimum trip and looks well-treated in the Tanners Champagne Handicap Chase.
