The final public practice of 2023 training camp arrives Wednesday for the Green Bay Packers.
The heat at Ray Nitschke Field will be oppressive, which is why Matt LaFleur decided to move practice up to 11:00 a.m. CT. Fans willing to face the high heat index will get to see the Packers practice for one last time before doors are closed and LaFleur’s team starts prepping for the regular season.

Autographs to end final public practice
RB Aaron Jones and QB Jordan Love spent a lot of time in the heat after #Packers final training camp practice signing autographs. Most of the players bolted. WR Christian Watson also signed a bunch of autographs for those waiting in the street. pic.twitter.com/aHdEpMBKwr

Big plays for Musgrave, Kraft
Tucker Kraft with his best play of camp. Ran open on a post down the right seam, behind CB Corey Ballentine. Jordan Love hit him for 30 yards. Kraft can move for a big guy, too.

Love hits Musgrave in the back of the end zone up seam for a 20 yard TD.

Rasul picks Love to end two minute
On second & 20 in 2-minute drill, Jordan Love tried to get half of it back with a stop route to Romeo Doubs. Rasul Douglas sat on it, and picked it. Savvy play from the vet. #Packers starting defense wins that period.

Work at DL for Van Ness
He’s an edge rusher on this team but Gutekunst said after the draft that we could see Van Ness taking some snaps inside. He took his share of snaps there while at Iowa. https://t.co/2QdhZra3Yz

A little bit of cross-training here for Lukas Van Ness? In an attempt to get the best rushers on the field together, the Packers’ first-round pick could be an inside rusher at times as a rookie.

Man, it’s a hot one. Like seven inches from the midday sun.
Matt LaFleur's pre-practice press conference
— LaFleur said Wednesday’s practice will be around two hours despite the heat. “We have to get our mind right for that.” Stressed proper hydration. “Going through something tough is good for you.”
— Said it was “great” to see Rashan Gary back on the field during 11-on-11s.
— “A lot of potential” in the edge rusher group.
— On Innis Gaines in the slot: Has all the movement skills. Physical player. He’s done a nice job. Key is keeping him healthy now.
— Didn’t like the focus of the team on Tuesday after a few days off.
— On the botched snaps: Combination of many things. Quarterback-center exchange is critical.
— On Jordan Love’s footwork: Something we’ve worked hard at, it’s a prerequisite to playing good football at quarterback. Called Tom Clements a “master” of footwork fundamentals. A lot of detail and timing within footwork and the scheme.
Tuesday practice review
Rashan Gary returned to 11-on-11 periods, Eric Stokes still isn’t ready to come off the PUP list and the Packers made a roster swap, signing cornerback Elijah Hamilton and waiving center Jake Hanson.
