Detectives investigating a shooting incident at Carnbane Industrial Estate in Newry last week have made two further arrests.
Officers were called to the Springhill Road area of the town at around midday last Tuesday, February 8 following reports that a man was shot in the legs. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police said the man had been returning to his vehicle after visiting a business premises in the estate when the attack happened.
On Monday, a PSNI spokesman confirmed that a 39-year-old man and a 27-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The 39-year-old man was subsequently released on bail pending further enquiries.
The 27-year-old man remains in police custody at this time.
A third man, aged 27, arrested last Thursday, February 10 in connection with the incident was released on bail pending further enquiries.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives continue to appeal to anyone with any information or dashcam footage in relation to the incident, to contact them at Ardmore Station on 101, quoting reference number 679 08/02/22.
