A man has been shot in the legs at an industrial estate in broad daylight.
Cops swarmed on the scene in Newry, Co Down after the incident, which is believed to have happened at around noon.
Officers were called to the Springhill Road area following reports that a man was shot in the legs.
There is a large police presence in the Carnbane Industrial estate area and officers have closed off a section of the road while investigations take place, Belfast Live reports.
A PSNI spokesman said: "Police in Newry are currently in attendance at a shooting incident in the Carnbane Industrial Estate this afternoon, Tuesday, February 8.
"At approximately 11.55am, a report was received that a man had been shot in the legs. He has been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries. There are no further details at present.
"Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information or dashcam footage in relation to it, is asked to call 101 quoting the reference number 679 08/02/22."
