Newport County have revealed their Spytty Park training ground was broken into hours before their scheduled League Two clash with Exeter City.
The club claims a number of items were stolen during the break-in, including playing gear, medical equipment, TVs, computers, and personal items belonging to members of staff.
The incident will prove an unwelcome distraction ahead of Newport's trip to Exeter on Tuesday night, with James Rowberry's men going in search of a third straight win in all competitions.
In a short statement, the club said: "Unfortunately, between the hours of 6pm on Monday 29th August and 7.30am on Tuesday 30th August, a break-in occurred at our Training Facility at Spytty Stadium.
"A number of items were taken including computer equipment, TVs, medical equipment and playing shirts. In addition, personal items belonging to staff and players were also stolen.

It's the second such incident to have happened at Spytty Park in recent years.
Back in 2020, the club revealed it was 'appalled' to find that there had been a break-in at the training ground during the recent coronavirus lockdown.
The incident reportedly took place between April 9 and 12 and among the items taken was a quantity of cash, an Apple iMac, a laptop, an iPad and playing kit.
