Newly-wed couple blasted for 'insensitive' photoshoot outside Windsor Castle

A newlywed couple has been criticised online for seemingly holding their wedding photoshoot outside Windsor Castle, next to mourners who were laying flowers for the late Queen. The monarch passed away last Thursday at the age of 96 at Balmoral castle, and the couple were spotted taking photos in front of Windsor on Monday.

Footage of the newlyweds emerged on social media and shows a woman in a long white dress posing for photos with a man wearing a blue suit. The camera then pans to show mourners standing by the gates at Windsor Castle as they left flowers and other tributes for Her Majesty.

The video, which was shared on TikTok, was accompanied by the words: "Fully having a wedding shoot - in front of the Queen's floral tribute."

And a caption for the clip read: "Not letting the Queen's death ruin their day."

Speaking to the Daily Mail about the video, the person who shared it online - who wished to remain anonymous - said: "I was just taking photos and a few videos and turned around and this couple was doing a wedding photoshoot. Looking back it might not have even been a real wedding. I know people do wedding shoots.

"Literally, by the gates, people were laying flowers and paying their respects and I even saw people crying so it was pretty insensitive. Most people reacted in a bemused way, a few people verbally commented how bad it was but no one stopped them."

The video has garnered over 87,000 views since it was posted earlier this week, and many commenters on the video were horrified by the "bad taste" shown by the couple.

One person said: "Totally not the time or the place!"

While another added: "Such bad taste."

And a third wrote: "No way! The audacity of some people."

But not everyone was against the couple, as several other commenters said it can cost a lot of money to hire a photographer for a wedding shoot, so they shouldn't be criticised for wanting to push through with their plans.

Someone stated: "Why do people think this is so bad? She doesn't have to cancel her wedding, it's cost money, let her enjoy [it]."

As someone else noted: "Why should they cancel? Are you going to pay for them to re-book everything?"
