Joe White has predicted that it 'won't be long' until everyone realises just how good fellow Newcastle United youngster Elliot Anderson is.
Anderson has not looked back following an impressive loan spell at Bristol Rovers in the second half of last season. Former Rovers team-mate Leon Clarke previously told ChronicleLive that he had only played with two other youngsters who showed such promise at a similar age: James Maddison and Reece James. No wonder the veteran still has Anderson saved as 'wonderkid' in his contacts.
Anderson's ability has never been in doubt, but the 20-year-old has also adapted to Eddie Howe's intense demands out of possession and earned the head coach's trust. Anderson made such an impact in pre-season that there was no chance of the Geordie going out on loan again and Howe went as far as to say the attacking midfielder was 'like a new signing' who was 'integral to our plans', saving the club millions in the process.

Anderson, who signed a new deal last September, has gone on to make nine appearances for Newcastle's first team under Howe and the Whitley Bay lad even has his own chant: 'Do-do-do, Geordie Maradona' to the tune of 'Do the Conga'. Supporters already know all about Anderson's promise, but White feels the football world, as a whole, will soon sit up and take notice.
"I've played with him at academy level for a number of years and when he's coming on for Newcastle's first team now, he shows a lot of passion," he told the club's match day programme. "It won't be long until everyone realises how good he is."
