Miguel Almiron's agent Daniel Campos has revealed that Manchester United were among a number of clubs previously interested in the Newcastle United winger. The Paraguayan international had only scored nine goals in his first 100 appearances for Newcastle in the Premier League, and took 26 league games to open his goal scoring account for the Magpies.
He had never scored more than four goals in a single Premier League season prior to the current campaign. However, Almiron has hit a rich vein of form, scoring six goals in as many games to extend his season tally to seven goals.
Campos has been discussing Almiron on a radio station in Paraguay and has divulged a number of clubs who have previously been interested in his client.

"There was interest shown by Manchester United in Miguel but they never made an offer. Arsenal and Southampton offered loan deals for him but we did not want it to be a loan."
Almiron still has two years left on his contract and has become a key player this season under Eddie Howe, with his performances reaching a new level.
