Crystal Palace head to St James’ Park in the Premier League on Wednesday evening to face Eddie Howe’s resurgent Newcastle.
The Magpies look certain to avoid relegation after appointing Howe in November following former manager Steve Bruce’s poor start to the season that threatened the club’s top-flight status. The North-East outfit are now closing in on the 40-point mark and would overtake Palace in the table were they to secure their sixth straight home win of the season on Tyneside tonight.
For the Eagles, manager Patrick Vieira is hoping to see a strong reaction from his players after they were beaten 2-0 at Wembley on Sunday in the second FA Cup semi-final. Goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount secured the win for the Blues who will now face Liverpool in the May final.

Vieira told reporters in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday that he would not accept any drop in standards from his players and that he’d be paying close attention to their application against Newcastle. The Eagles are still pushing for a top-half finish in the Premier League and could return there with a victory.
With both sides poised on 37 points in the table tonight’s match is set to be an entertaining affair. You can find all of the details of how to keep up to date with the clash at St James’ Park below.

Team news
Eddie Howe revealed in his pre-match press conference that Ryan Fraser would likely miss the game with a muscle injury, joining Kieran Trippier (ankle) and Callum Wilson (calf) - who scored in the reverse fixture at Selhurst Park - on the treatment table. Isaac Hayden (knee) and Jamal Lewis (groin) are also unavailable with long-term injuries.
Patrick Vieira meanwhile only has two players missing for the trip to the North East. Club captain Luka Milivojevic felt something in his hamstring during the final moments of the Chelsea game and so will not travel, while Nathan Ferguson continues to miss out after picking up a knock in February.
