Sitting at present as the joint second top scorer in the division, the Canadian international has long been a target for the Gunners, with United now also keen to spend big according to reports published in The Mirror.

Gouiri targeted

Elsewhere, The Magpies have also emerged as a potential future destination for France Under 21 international Amine Gouiri.

The 22-year-old star has emerged as a break through talent in Ligue 1 this season, having already registered 10 goals and seven assists thus far.

But with West Ham United also closely monitoring the youngsters progression with current club Nice, it is again thought a sizeable fee would be required to prize the attacking playmaker away from the Allianz Riviera.

With Italian outlet CalcioMercato suggesting the two clubs have already declared their interest, it could be a highest bidder takes all as we close in on the summer months.
