Clinical and efficient, Tindall’s team created an xG of 2.09 and scored with more than half of their efforts on target, while Manchester United laboured with 0.61 xG and largely failed to create opportunities to test Pope. The Magpies go into fourth with the win ahead of a match with Crystal Palace on Saturday, while Manchester United stay 13th and host Wolves on Sunday after their second leg with Lyon on Thursday.
