Eddie Howe and his Newcastle United players take on Leicester City in their biggest game of the campaign to date. The Magpies know a win against the Foxes would tee up a two-legged affair against one of Manchester United, Charlton, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Manchester City or Southampton.
The Toon have not reached the semi-final stage of the competition since reaching the final in 1975/76, where they lost out to Manchester City. Supporters need no reminder of a similar opportunity that presented itself two seasons ago.
Newcastle were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Brentford in 2020/21, in a disappointing defeat for Steve Bruce and his side. The Magpies are a different animal all together under Eddie Howe, but the FA Cup defeat at the weekend has shown there are still some weaknesses.
