Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe handed Nick Pope a start between the posts for the clash against 1860 Munich.
But new signing Sven Botman started on the bench for the clash in Saalfelden with Howe set to rotate his team in each half.
Howe handed a starting chance to Emil Krafth and skipper Jamaal Lascelles while young Elliot Anderson was also on show.

The only surprise omission was Matt Ritchie who didn't feature on the bench for the encounter with the third tier German side. Newcastle jetted Jay Turner-Cooke over to Austria from the Under-21s' trip to Spain where he had been training with the second string. Turner-Cooke was handed a place on the bench along with some big hitters from the first-team.
