Newcastle United have been urged to go after clinical Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy in the upcoming transfer window. Vardy, 35, is under contract at the King Power until 2023 and has enjoyed a superb rise from football's lower leagues.
Spells at Halifax Town and Fleetwood Town came before his £1million move to the Foxes, where the former England international has now spent the last ten years.
But, according to TalkSPORT panellist Andy Townsend, Vardy is someone who the Magpies should focus their attention upon this summer.

“Someone like Jamie Vardy could improve so many teams, even at his age,” he said. “He would be amazing for them (Arsenal), I think. I really do. I think he would be terrific for them. And Newcastle, again, even at his age.”
At 35-years-old, Vardy is one of the Premier League’s most prolific goal scorers and still holds the record for most consecutive top flight games scored in, with 11.
Having faltered a little this season, along with if not most of Brendan Rogers side, the striker has still found the net 15 times, taking his tally to 133 Premier League goals.
With a move seemingly unlikely, United have been linked with several big hitters in recent weeks, none more so than Benfica front man Darwin Nunez and Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta too.
