Newcastle United 'interested' in Leeds United defender Robin Koch
German outlet Sport1 has claimed that Robin Koch is considering the 'next step' in his career with Leeds United battling against relegation. They state that Newcastle are one of a handful of clubs looking to pry the centre-back away from Elland Road amid the Whites' struggles on the pitch.
Koch's contract currently runs until 2024, meaning Leeds may face a difficult decision in the upcoming summer window. Should the German not agree to renew his deal at the club, the risk of losing the defender on a free could well prompt the club to consider a potential sale.

The centre-back was once again one of the best players on the pitch during Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, a growing theme for the Whites this season. Eddie Howe's side therefore could be looking to tempt him to St James' Park for the 2023/24 season as they look to bolster their defensive options.
Scott McTominay and James Maddison on Newcastle's radar
Elsewhere, Football Insider have reported that Eddie Howe's side are interested in both Manchester United's Scott McTominay and Leicester City's James Maddison.
They report that Howe is looking for a 'complete midfield overhaul' next season and that both McTominay and Maddison are on his wish-list.
Maddison has been heavily linked with a move to Tyneside for a while and it is understood that Newcastle are looking to turn their long-term admiration. The Foxes star would add another dimension to Howe's midfield as they look to make more of an incisive impact in the final-third.
McTominay meanwhile has been in and out of Man United's team this term under Erik ten Hag, starting just seven of their 25 league games, and the Scot could well be keen on a move to the north east in search of a fresh challenge next season.
