Newcastle told to offer Bruno Guimaraes new deal after bright start
Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor doesn't think there's any chance Bruno Guimaraes will leave St. James' Park yet, despite reported interest from Real Madrid. The Magpies pipped the La Liga outfit to his signature in January and he's been one of the standout players since arriving.
“I think he will, yes," Agbonlahor told Football Insider when asked if he could see Guimaraes signing a new deal. "I understand it from Newcastle, they’re looking at it and thinking ‘You know what, we have to tie this guy up because teams are going to try and steal him from us’.
“They should do, he’s a very talented player and I’m sure he’ll be looking at the project and think it’s exciting where it could go.
“I don’t think there’s any chance of him leaving yet, no way. Maybe in future, but at the moment, I think he wants to be part of the project there.”
Newcastle United 'settle on price' for Chelsea target Leandro Trossard
Newcastle United have reportedly agreed their price for Brighton talisman Leandro Trossard, according to transfer expert Graeme Bailey on the Talking Transfers podcast. Chelsea boss Graham Potter is reportedly keen on a reunion with the Belgian at Stamford Bridge having worked together at Brighton.
Bailey claims that Chelsea may struggle to get their finances together to sanction the move, while Trossard is reportedly keen to work under Dan Ashworth again. The Magpies have reportedly agreed to spend £25million on the attacking midfielder, with his contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
Brighton have not yet given up hope of tying Trossard down with a new deal that would make him the highest earner at the club.
