Here are the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Saturday, June 4.
Benfica open to Grimaldo sale
It is very clear that Eddie Howe wants to sign a left-back for Newcastle this summer. Among the potential options to line up on the left flank of the Magpies defence is Alex Grimaldo.
Portuguese outlet O Jogo have reported that Benfica are open to selling the 26-year-old and they have claimed that he could be available for a cut price. He has just one more year left on his contract and is currently in the bad books at his club.

The behavioural issue that the Portuguese giants have taken very seriously isn’t said to have unduly worried those in charge at St James’ Park and a bid could be lodged in the coming weeks.
Porto goalkeeper on Toon transfer radar
Elsewhere in the Portuguese top flight, Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa is said to be attracting interest from United. The 22-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s most promising shot stoppers this season.
He played a starring role for Porto as they won the Liga Portugal as they lost just one of their 34 games on their way to 91 points. Jornal de Noticias in Costa’s home country have claimed that a deal could cost around €40m despite him having a €60m release clause in his contract.
Bayern join race for Toon-linked Serie A striker
While it looks like Hugo Ekitike will be the man who satisfies Newcastle’s need for another striker this summer, there are a few forwards on the radar on Tyneside. Reports have stated that one of them is Napoli’s Victor Osimhen who enjoyed another strong season in Serie A despite losing much of his campaign to injury.
The price tag that has been set on the Nigeria international - expected to be €110m – has deterred any concrete interest so far but Bayern Munich have enquired about his availability, according to Corriere dello Sport. With Robert Lewandowski expected to leave this summer, the German champions are targeting alternatives with Liverpool’s Sadio Mane also on the list.
