Newcastle United transfer odds as bookies reveal players Magpies 'most likely' to sign

The summer transfer window is not yet open, but already Newcastle United have been linked with a plethora of players. Eddie Howe will want to improve his squad for next season, with the Magpies challenging on several fronts.

Their fourth-placed Premier League finish means Champions League football is returning to St James' Park for the first time in 20 years and, while Howe has hinted there won't be a huge number of arrivals, he knows there are key areas where the first XI, and squad, can improve.

Of course this is the time of year when the rumours start to fly, some more realistic than others, but there's no doubt plenty of players will be on the move this summer. With their new spending power, Newcastle are usually linked with some big names, even if they are likely to head elsewhere.

We've cut through the names to bring you the players Bet365 feel Newcastle are more likely to sign.

Kieran Tierney

Odds: Newcastle 8/11, Arsenal 6/4, Aston Villa 8/1

The Arsenal left-back reportedly wants more first-team football, while Newcastle could do with an attacking left-back. Dan Burn has performed superbly in the role all season, but the Scotland international would tick a big box.

James Maddison

Odds: Newcastle 6/4, Spurs 7/2, Man United 5/1, Liverpool 9/1

Newcastle were frustrated by teams sitting back at St James' on more than on occasion last season, and many feel Maddison would be the man to help unlock those defences. The England star is likely to move on after Leicester's relegation - and potentially at a lower price than United looked to pay for him last summer. He will be in demand.

James Ward-Prowse

Odds: Newcastle 5/2, Southampton 7/2, West Ham 7/2, Spurs 13/2, Brighton 10/1

Another who could move on following relegation, the Southampton star would be a good addition to any midfield. Newcastle were light on options beyond Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff, and are ahead of the likes of West Ham and Spurs in the race, should Ward-Prowse leave St Mary's.

Youri Tielemans

Odds: Aston Villa 6/4, Newcastle 7/2, Arsenal 5/1, Liverpool 11/2

The Belgian midfielder will leave Leicester this summer, although Aston Villa are thought to lead the race for his signature. A free agent, he's perhaps one whose stock has fallen along with the Foxes, but he won't be short of suitors.

Dominik Szoboszlai

Odds: RB Leipzig 8/13, Newcastle 2/1, Liverpool 10/1

The Hungary captain has excelled in the Bundesliga in recent seasons and is widely expected to depart RB Leipzig before the end of the upcoming transfer window. Newcastle have long retained an interest and are the favourites to sign him if he leaves the Red Bull Arena.

Harvey Barnes

Odds: Aston Villa 7/4, Newcastle 4/1, West Ham 4/1, Leicester 13/2, Spurs 8/1

The Leicester winger will attract much attention this summer as he decides his future with the Foxes now a Championship club. Villa and West Ham have been linked, with Newcastle perhaps well stocked on the left-side of their attack. Few fans would turn down the chance to sign him, however.

Harry Maguire

Man United 7/4, Aston Villa 3/1, Newcastle 11/2, West Ham 6/1, Spurs 10/1

The England defender could be set to leave Old Trafford after a difficult season, with Villa favourites for his signature should he move on. Whether he would get first-team football at Newcastle is debatable, but he's 11/2 for a St James' Park switch.

Neymar

Odds: PSG 8/11, Man United 3/1, Chelsea 7/1, Newcastle 7/1, Man City 10/1

Yeah, we know. Newcastle have so far avoided big-name, or rather big ego, signings, but whenever a superstar is on the move, United will be linked as one of the few clubs who could actually afford it. The Brazil forward is odds-on to stay at PSG, but a Premier League move could be on.

Sadio Mane

Odds: Bayern 8/11, Chelsea 11/2, Juventus 10/1, Newcastle 12/1, Napoli 12/1

Another left-field suggestion, former Liverpool man Mane has not hit the heights he reached at Anfield. He's likely to stay at Bayern, with Chelsea and Juventus ahead of the Magpies in the betting.
