Ramos release clause revealed
Goncalo Ramos is wanted by Manchester United for £25million, according to The Sun. Newcastle were reportedly targeting the Benfica forward - who played against the Magpies in pre-season - last summer.
His release clause is understood to be €100million but the Portuguese outfit would understandably lower their demands. Ramos, who has represented Portugal at every level since under-17 but is yet to earn a senior cap, has already bagged eight goals in 12 games this season.
At 21, the forward would be a long-term option for any Premier League side. The Red Devils only have 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo as a striker option but have played Marcus Rashford there in 2022-23.
Manu sale possible
Borussia Monchengladbach director of football Roland Virkus claims there have already been enquiries for Manu Kone. The French midfielder is likened to compatriot Paul Pogba and reports have linked him to Newcastle and Liverpool.
Speaking to German outlet Bild, Virkus accepted a sale may happen further down the line. He said: “I’d be lying if I said we would never sell him. There have already been enquiries for Manu, but we don’t have to sell him yet.
“The boy must want to take his next step to a club that is significantly bigger than Gladbach, and we also have to be satisfied.”
The ‘next’ Dani Alves
Spanish media site Sport suggests Newcastle are interested in Brazilian right-back Vanderson. An interview with his former manager, Tiago Nunes, compares him to legendary Barcelona defender Dani Alves.
The 21-year-old is valued at £15million and only penned a five-year contract extension last month. Nunes said: “Vanderson has the quality (to play for Barcelona),” says Nunes, who coached the 21-year-old at Gremio.
“I think of the comparison with Alves because Dani was one of the greats. Dani is a player who played on the wing, but he was also a midfielder many times. Vanderson has the quality to do that, and the physical strength to attack the space.
“Because he is direct, he has a lot of strength. He scores goals, he has potential. I see the same potential as Dani Alves.”
