Newcastle United transfer gossip as Spanish giants join list of Bruno Guimaraes admirers

Here are your latest Newcastle United transfer rumours for Monday, October 31.

Bruno on Barca's radar

It would've come as a huge relief to Newcastle supporters to see Bruno Guimaraes commit his future to the club once again in an interview with Sky Sports this week. Nonetheless, his loyalty to The Toon hasn't prevented a number of clubs across Europe showing a keen interest in his talent.

Chelsea, Real Madrid and Liverpool are all reportedly interested in the 25-year-old, and now Barcelona are set to test Newcastle's resolve. The Spanish juggernauts have accepted defeat in their quest to land Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, and are instead switching their attentions to Guimaraes, according a report from The Sun.

Goal Brasil claimed earlier this week that Newcastle are prepared to make Guimaraes the highest paid player in the squad by handing him a weekly wage of £200,000. Guimaraes only joined the Magpies in January and still has four years left to run on his current contract.

Guimaraes has scored seven goals and registered three assists in 28 appearances across all competitions for Newcastle since arriving from Lyon. In his interview with Sky Sports, Guimaraes revealed: "I feel at home. The experience I've had here has been amazing. Yes, sometimes it can be difficult to leave the house because everybody recognises me!

"But they [the fans] are always so friendly, so loving, not just with me but with everyone in my family. It's always nice when there are teams looking at you, but my plan is just to do my best at Newcastle. The rest, I leave with my agent.

"I have three or four years of contract left. It's so long. I swear I'm not thinking about other things. My focus now is just on Newcastle and the World Cup. There is a long way to go. I love playing here, I love to bond with the fans, and I want to become a legend here."

Caciedo's £85m valuation

Moises Caciedo has become an integral figure for Brighton in the Premier League, especially this season, and the Seagulls are not willing to part with the Ecuadorian international without a fight.

Newcastle sporting director Dan Ashworth oversaw Caciedo's £4 million switch from Independiente del Valle to Brighton in 2021 during his spell in East Sussex as technical director.

The Magpies are among a number of clubs, including Chelsea (managed by ex-Brighton boss Graham Potter), Liverpool and Manchester United, who are interested in signing the 20-year-old.

The Mirror claim that Newcastle see Caciedo as an alternative to Youri Tielemens, who is out of contract at Leicester City next summer. However, Brighton have set an extraordinary £85 million price tag for any club looking to prise him away from the Amex Stadium.

Caciedo has started in each of Brighton's 12 Premier League games so far this season, scoring in the Seagulls' 5-2 victory over Leicester City in September.

The young midfielder has already been capped 25 times by his country and is set to feature at the 2022 World Cup despite the controversy surrounding Ecuador's place at the finals in Qatar.
