Newcastle United transfer gossip as Dean Henderson, Harry Winks and Nathan Collins all linked

Your Newcastle United transfer round-up for Monday, May 30.

Winks available

Harry Winks is available for £15million and Newcastle are interested, according to The Sunday People. Antonio Conte is eager to get his teeth stuck into the summer transfer market - his first as Tottenham Hotspur boss - and freeing up coffers for new arrivals is high on his to-do list.

England international Winks has struggled for game time since the Italian’s arrival, making just 19 Premier League appearances all season. The report names Southampton as a rival for his signature but the Magpies would be able to blow Saints out of the water wages-wise.

Henderson “confidence”

Newcastle are “confident” they can lure Dean Henderson from Manchester United this summer. The Northern Echo reports the Magpies are willing to let Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman leave as Eddie Howe reshuffles his goalkeeping options.

Henderson has failed to make a Premier League appearance at Old Trafford in 2021-22 despite calls at the start of the campaign for him to start over David De Gea. ChronicleLive understands the England international met Toon representatives in the North East last week to discuss a permanent move.

Fresh claims in The Echo suggest Newcastle will tempt the Red Devils with a £15million bid once the window officially opens.

Burnley relegation raid

Football Insider claim Newcastle and Leeds are considering a swoop for Burnley defender Nathan Collins. The 21-year-old Irishman made 19 appearances for the Clarets as they were relegated to the Championship - by the Magpies - on the final day.

Collins, who plays primarily as a centre-back, only joined Burnley last summer from Stoke for £12million. However, financial uncertainty at Turf Moor has heightened following relegation and they could be forced to cash in.

Leeds are also desperate to bolster their defence after staying in the top flight by the skin of their teeth.
