A look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Saturday, 14 January.
Josip Juranovic sent Kieran Trippier warning ahead of possible Newcastle switch
Celtic's Croatian international Josip Juranovic has been warned he'll have to compete with Kieran Trippier if he is to move to Newcastle United in one of the upcoming transfer windows. The Magpies are understood to be looking out for a long-term successor for Trippier, but it would be difficult to take the England international out of the team given his impressive performances this season.
Juranovic impressed for Croatia at the World Cup in Qatar and has been linked with a move away from the Scottish champions. Former Portsmouth, Swindon Town and Celtic trainee Simon Ferry believes the Croatian would struggle for game time after watching Trippier this season.
Ferry told Grosvenor Sport: "I went mental [on the podcast] when I saw that Juranovic was linked with Monza for £7 million. Scottish football fans could be biased because we live here, but you can't leave Celtic after a brilliant World Cup to go to Monza.

"In terms of Newcastle, playing in front of 50,000 people in the Premier League every week makes more sense to me. Celtic fans would be more understanding if he went to Newcastle.
"Eddie Howe is a similar type of coach to Ange Postecoglou. He wants to improve players, play a certain style of football - and attacking football - which would suit Juranovic.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Newcastle came in for him, but you do have to consider whether it would be a wise move. I've seen Newcastle play this season and Kieran Trippier is their best player by a mile, so does he want to go to Newcastle and sit and watch Kieran every week?
"Of course, Juranovic can triple his wages if he makes the move, but I can't see him moving Trippier out of the team. It'll be interesting to see where he goes."
Newcastle United 'incredibly keen' on Nicolo Zaniolo
Calciomercato claim the ‘increasingly ambitious’ Newcastle United are ‘waiting for new developments" in the pursuit of AS Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.
Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly inrested in the Italian international, an interest that has only increased since the arrival of Fabio Paratici.
Antonio Conte is also understood to be a fan of the Roma midfielder. The Serie A club are hoping to tie the 23-year-old down to a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in 2024.
