Atleti forced to sell
Atletico Madrid may be forced to lower their asking price for Yannick Carrasco, according to Spanish outlet AS. Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur were two clubs linked with the Belgian over the summer.
A hefty price tag repelled Premier League interest but the La Liga club now have a huge void in their finances. Defeat to Porto dumped Atletico out of the Champions League - a result few people saw coming.

Diego Simeone’s side finished rock-bottom of Group B, meaning they also miss out on a Europa League place. Reports suggest a £26million black hole will desecrate their finances and allow Newcastle the chance to sign Carrasco for a cut-price fee.
Toon among Prem trio
The Daily Mail claim Newcastle are one of several top-flight clubs chasing Villareal midfielder Nicolas Jackson. Aston Villa, whose boss Unai Emery has just left the Spanish club, are also rumoured to be interested.
Jackson is out of contract in the summer and has been on the periphery of the Villareal side for around a year. At 21, he would be signed as one for the future, with Dan Ashworth keen to bolster the youth ranks at St James’ Park.
Bruno ex-teammate linked
Italian outlet Roma Giallorossa are reporting that Leicester City will rival Newcastle for midfielder Houssem Aouar. A Lyon stalwart, the Frenchman is a former teammate of fans’ favourite Bruno Guimaraes.
The 24-year-old broke through the youth system before cementing his first-team place in 2017. Billed as an attacking midfielder, Aauar has been capped once for France but injuries to Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante give him an outside chance of making the World Cup squad.
Like Jackson, he too is available for nothing at the end of the campaign. Roma Giallorossa indicate that Lyon would be willing to cash in on their asset in January to recoup funds.
