Former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has claimed that Newcastle United signing Jude Bellingham would be "a mind blowing football decision".
Bellingham has enjoyed a meteoric rise following his move from Birmingham City to Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old is one of the most sought-after talents in Europe and is tipped by many to become one of the best footballers in the world.
Having shone for England during the World Cup, a host of clubs were circling Bellingham in the January transfer window. The Dortmund man remained in the Bundesliga but there will no doubt be plenty of interested parties when the summer window opens.

Eddie Howe has admitted that Newcastle are light in midfield, but despite the Magpies being one of the few clubs who could financially afford a deal for the Black and Yellows star, Johnson has now poured cold water on any rumours linking the teenager with a move to Tyneside.
“No, I can’t see that happening," Johnson told Betfred about a potential Newcastle move for Bellingham. "If there’s any team that can afford him then it would be Newcastle, but that would be a mind blowing football decision.
"If he’s available and all the top teams know that he is, then Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and everybody else would want to take him. If he went to Newcastle United, then I believe it would purely be a financial decision.
"However, wherever he goes, he’s not going to be on a small contract, so I can’t see him going to Newcastle at all.”
