Newcastle United will receive a financial boost during the 2022 World Cup thanks to a long-running FIFA scheme. The 'Club Benefits Programme' sees clubs across the world receive $10,000 (£9049) per player per day before and during the Qatar showpiece.
The governing body says the scheme is to 'recognise the contribution of clubs towards the tournament'. $209m (£188.8m) has been dedicated towards the programme, which benefited more than 400 clubs across 63 countries during the World Cup in Russia four years ago.
Newcastle look set to send four players to Qatar this winter, with Bruno Guimaraes, Kieran Trippier, Nick Pope and Fabian Schar all expected to feature for their countries next month. Clubs will receive the funds both during the preparation period before the tournament and during the competition itself until countries suffer an exit.

There is just an eight day turnaround between the final Premier League game on November 13 and the opening game in Qatar on November 20. This means Newcastle will receive at least £500,000 between the lead up to the tournament and the end of the group stage.
Should England, Brazil or Switzerland reach the quarter-finals, a further £65,000 per player will be earned. If any Newcastle player manages to make the final in Qatar, it will mean they have individually brought in almost £300,000 across the entire tournament.
An England vs Brazil final would be the best outcome for the Magpies, bringing in a whopping £900,000. 38 English clubs earned a total of £33m from players participating in Russia back in 2018, with Manchester City banking £4.5m and neighbours Manchester United making £3.2m.
A FIFA statement on the scheme read: "As part of its commitment to recognise the contribution that football clubs make to the successful staging of the FIFA World Cup, today FIFA started the application process for its Club Benefits Programme that will see $209 million distributed to clubs across the world.
"Clubs will be able to apply digitally through the FIFA Professional Football Landscape platform with approximately $10,000 to be received for each one of the days the relevant player remains with his national team during the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the official preparation period. The compensation will be paid to all clubs for which the footballer has played in the two years prior to the FIFA World Cup 2022."
Newcastle will be hopeful their four main contenders stay fit for the tournament next month, while the likes of Joelinton, Callum Wilson and Dan Burn continue their fine form due to their slim chances of earning a call-up.
