Newcastle United are reportedly set to move on from Timo Werner and approach Chelsea with a new proposal. The Mirror claims the Magpies will head back to Chelsea to try and sign Callum Hudson-Odoi with the approach Timo Werner set to be rejected.
The Blues forward had been linked with a loan move to St. James' Park this summer as Eddie Howe looks to bolster his attacking options this summer. However, the German forward now looks set to favour a move back to Germany with RB Leipzig with Sky Germany claiming talks with his former club were in "full swing."
Werner flourished during his four years with the Bundesliga club, scoring 95 times in 159 appearances in all competitions. His final season with Leipzig saw hit net an impressive 34 goals in 45 games which earned him his £47.5 million move to Stamford Bridge.

The Magpies are expected to turn their attention to Hudson-Odoi having already been linked with the winger earlier this summer. The Blues winger only started 11 Premier League games and suffered an Achilles injury at the back end of last season.
According to the Chelsea Social author Rob Pratley - who has worked for the BBC - interest from the Magpies is genuine. He wrote: “Newcastle have formally started talks with Chelsea over a potential signing of Callum Hudson-Odoi. The fee would be significant, and Chelsea are pondering over trying to include a buyback clause.”
