Newcastle United will travel to Portugal to face Benfica on Tuesday July 26 for a pre-season friendly with the Eusébio Cup up for grabs. Kick-off at the Estádio da Luz will be 8pm local time.
The cup is an invitational match hosted by the Portuguese side, with the likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Ajax and São Paulo having taken part in recent years. It's just the second time in history that the two sides will play each other.
Newcastle's previous competitive fixture against Benfica is one that still lives fresh in the memory. Alan Pardew's Magpies were drawn against The Eagles in the Quarter-Final of the Europa League in the 2012/13 campaign.

Newcastle were beaten 3-1 in the first-leg in Lisbon before drawing 1-1 at St. James' Park in the reverse fixture as the Magpies were knocked out of the competition. The friendly is the third instalment in an impressive pre-season schedule.
The Toon will host Atalanta on Friday, 29th July with kick-off 7.45pm and Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, 30th July with kick-off to be confirmed - both games will be at St. James' Park. Benfica finished last season third in the Primeira Liga and reached the last eight of the Champions League.
