Newcastle United have been tipped to make even more progress heading into the new season following the release of the 2022/23 Premier League fixtures. The Magpies now know they will begin the season at home to newcomers Nottingham Forest on Saturday, August 6, before an away trip to Brighton follows the weekend after.
Eddie Howe's side finished in 11th place during the last campaign and bookmakers have begun offering odds on a top-six finish for the Toon.
Beginning with Betfair firstly, they have United at odds of 5/2 to finish in the top six, with Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Man Utd the only sides with better values at present.

Finishing as high as fifth back in the 2011/12 season, the Magpies have since flirted with spells in England's second-tier along the way, with last season's 11th-place finish presenting a higher position than in the club's last three domestic terms.
Ladbrokes are also offering the same price as Betfair at 5/2, with bet365 and SkyBet showing 9/4 respectively on their own sites too.
With Manchester City, Wolves and Liverpool rounding off the first month's action for Howe's side, Newcastle will hope to find early consistency and even pull off a shock or two against the division's biggest sides.
