Newcastle United supporters eulogised Miguel Almiron after his fifth goal this season helped the Magpies secure a vital three points. The Paraguayan's first-half screamer was enough to separate the two sides as Eddie Howe's men picked up another win, but remained sixth in the Premier League.
For context of Almiron's resurgence, 36% of his top-flight goals have come in 2022-23. Nick Pope also kept his fifth clean sheet of the season - maintaining Newcastle's record as the sturdiest defence in the division.
Defeat for Everton leaves Frank Lampard's side 15th in the table after 11 games. Just two wins this season has the Toffees lingering one point above the relegation zone.

St James' Park erupted at the full-time whistle as supporters celebrated the Magpies' third win in four games. This is how fans reacted on social media as Newcastle moved into the Europa League spot.
@tynetakes: Sloppiest I’ve seen us all season in that second half. They marked Bruno out the game. Only Moment of quality won the game for us. Understandably tired after that 90 on Sunday but got to credit them. So resolute defensively again.Thought burn was superb. 1 defeat in 11. Get in
@xnocnaheel: Well that was a tough watch! 3 points cracker from wor miggy. Onwards and upwards!
@AngelNUFC: Easy win, we didn't break a sweat. Everton are going down. 1 shot the whole game, and it wasn't even on target. Anderson looked good, start him vs Spurs.
@Matchday365: Miguel Almiron now has 5 Premier League goals this season. That’s more than he’s scored in ANY campaign since joining Newcastle United in the 18/19 season. It’s only October!
@bodas73: Get in. Not at our best at all tonight but we won and thats a sign of a very decent side.
@harrystrawson_: Thought Sean Longstaff was excellent. Well done lads
@Roryhanna45: Shows what you can do when you surround decent players with world class players who work hard. The ones who are decent work hard and have a desire to match them. What a result. Up the toon
@AdamCLifford8: Horrible game to watch - shocking tactics from Everton - winning when not playing well though, so that’s definitely a positive!
@Steveuk2030: Would never thought wor Miggy would be top scorer at this point in the season
