Newcastle United supporters react to 'huge' victory over Wolves and reserve special praise for Bruno

Newcastle United are now within touching distance of Premier League survival following this evening’s hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolves. Chris Wood was the hero for the Magpies as he netted his first goal on home soil since his January move from the penalty spot.

And it was Wood who won the chance to score from 12-yards as he went down under a challenge from Jose Sa following a driving run and through ball from Joelinton. The 30-year-old thought he had broken his St. James’ Park duck in the first half, but his close range effort was ruled out for offside by VAR earlier in the move.

Newcastle are now up to 14 th in the table and crucially, have opened up a 10 point gap to the bottom three. Here is how Newcastle supporters have been reacting to the result.

@MagpieMessages: “Absolutely huge three points. First time we’ve beaten a side in the top 10 this season too.”

@BrandonYorkVP: “Massive result with the happenings around the bottom of the table. Feeling really confident in survival chances now!”

@CarlDonaldson_: “Nothing better than a Friday night win. Bruno is some player. What a job Eddie Howe has done. TOON TOON.”

@agbnufc_: “Three absolutely massive points, some momentum going into the next home games. Bruno has world class potential! Ain’t no way Everton/Burnley getting to 34 points.”

@DL5872: “Can’t believe I’m saying this but IMO MOTM Almiron. Although Bruno and J7 are our midfield of the future, none stop running.”

@hrcrtrvl360: “Excellent team performance despite wasteful Saint Maximin. Bruno G MOTM. Will be surprised if he loses his place to Willock. Great win. Howay the lads!

@Rickardo_nufc: “Huge result! Bruno my man of the match but credit to Wood for his goal and huge work rate. ASM needs to work on his finishing, should have been two or three but ASM was a good outlet when sitting deep.”

@CTNatural: “Fantastic win, still unbeaten at home in 2022 and that is us safe, no way are we going down now.”

@asm_10: “Bruno is just different gravy, honestly the man can do everything.”

@KurdishGeordie: “A big win. Now we should fight for every point till we are officially safe, a couple more wins will secure our safety.”
