Newcastle United supporters make big Dan Burn and Sven Botman call in Nottingham Forest prediction

The starting line-up this afternoon will be one of the hardest to predict with a number of selection headaches for Eddie Howe. There's been a number of impressive outings in pre-season from the likes of Miggy Almiron and Elliot Anderson, while Nick Pope and Martin Dubravka will both be laying claim to the number one spot at St. James' Park this season.

However, it's the former of those two - new boy Pope - who Newcastle United fans think will start against Nottingham Forest this afternoon. The Toon Army have opted to pick a centre-half pairing of Dan Burn and Sven Botman - two left footers - with Kieran Trippier and Matt Targett on either flank.

Supporters have opted for a midfield trio of Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock - all three of whom impressed in pre season. Almiron's performances haven't gone unnoticed by The Magpies supporters and they expect him to start on the right-hand side.

Callum Wilson is expected to lead the line with Allan Saint-Maximin on the left-wing. Howe will be able to use five substitutes this season after the rule was reintroduced ahead of this afternoon's curtain raiser.

It means the likes of Anderson - who lay down a marker for the Magpies head coach in pre-season - could get some minutes if he's included in the matchday squad.
