Newcastle United supporters could not contain their excitement after the club officially announced Anthony Gordon. The Scouser arrived on Tyneside yesterday to complete a medical ahead of a £45million move.
Confirmation of his move makes Gordon the second most-expensive player in Newcastle's history behind summer addition Alexander Isak. Switching a relegation battle for a Champions League push provides the 21-year-old with a new challenge in his promising career.
Gordon is available for selection for next week's Premier League clash against West Ham United. Featuring for Everton in their third-round clash with Bournemouth at the start of the season makes him cup-tied for Tuesday's mammoth reverse leg against Southampton at St James' Park.

However, few supporters were thinking about that detail when the club announced his switch on social. Any pre-signing pessimism was nowhere to be seen as Geordies welcomed the former Toffee to Tyneside.
This is how fans reacted to the news online.
@agbnufc_: Can't wait until he gets going developing under a proper coach, focused and not worried about getting hounded by fans. Welcome to the party
@BellsyNUFC: Welcome Anthony, sounds ambitious which is perfect for us.
@AllanBrough: Welcome to our madhouse, you’re going to love it.
@Jxke_NUFC: give your all and we'll back you all the way
@Alan_G_Shaw: Welcome young man. Try your heart out every match and you'll win all of us over nee bother
@SuperJackSZN: Quality signing, always looks electric even in a tepid Everton side and managed to be their joint-top scorer while facing relegation. No matter what the fans say, technically sound and a nuisance with his pace and agility. Howe will make him a world beater
