Newcastle United supporters are delighted to see hot prospect Elliot Anderson rewarded with a new long-term deal at St. James' Park. The 19-year-old from Whitley Bay burst onto the scene last season and enjoyed a hugely productive loan spell with Joey Barton's Bristol Rovers.
The Magpies youngster was dubbed the 'Geordie Maradona' during his stint at the Memorial Stadium and there were plenty of Championship clubs vying for his signature this summer. Nonetheless, Anderson was rewarded for his hard work with a place in the squad for the upcoming campaign and has made four appearances for the Magpies so far this season - playing 85 minutes in the Carabao Cup Second Round win over Tranmere Rovers.
There have been increased calls from the black and white fanbase for Anderson to be given a start in the Premier League, based on his impressive cameos. The England and Scotland youth international has now signed a new long-term deal to keep him at St. James' Park.
