Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser is facing a second scan on his hamstring after missing the 2-1 win over Leicester City on Sunday.
The Scotland international sustained the muscle injury in the victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at home recently. But now looks set to be missing for the clash with Crystal Palace and potentially beyond.
Eddie Howe said today: "The plan is to have another scan of his hamstring this week, just to see where the injury is. We had an initial scan, and two conflicting opinions, so we’re re-scanning it this week."

However, Howe does not have any other major injury concerns going into the clash with Crystal Palace. Toon duo Kieran Trippier, who is still training one on one with the physion but is back on the grass, and Callum Wilson, missing in action since December, are still on course for a return this season. Although, it is believed that Trippier is just ahead of Wilson as things stand.
Newcastle could nudge up to the 40-point mark with a win over Crystal Palace before the trip to doomed Norwich. Howe added: "We know the importance of this week. "Two massive games for us and we're keen to hit that mark as quickly as possible.
"We know nothing is guaranteed in this league so we'd love to finish off this run of home games with another win."
