Newcastle United release 1,000 season tickets as clamour for seats continues

Newcastle United have confirmed they will release a "limited number" of season tickets after an unprecedented level of renewals.

Supporters have been jamming the phonelines at the club's ticket office in scenes that mirror the 1990s and the Kevin Keegan era as fans try to secure seats for an exciting new era. Chronicle Live understands that just 1,000 season tickets will be made available at this moment in time.

United have to hold back 5% of match day tickets to comply with the rule book and the club say they consulted the NUFC Trust throughout their process.

A statement read: "Newcastle United has released a limited number of season tickets to supporters with a previous purchase history ahead of the new 2022/23 Premier League season.

"Following an unprecedented level of renewals from existing season ticket holders, the club has put additional seats on sale to fans who have bought a season ticket, single match ticket or membership at any point since 1st July 2019.

"Supporters can check if they are eligible to purchase season tickets by logging on to their ticket account here If they can see the option to purchase a 2022/23 season ticket, they will be eligible to purchase a season ticket from 10am on Tuesday, 28th June 2022 . Season tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

"Only one season ticket can be purchased per supporter number."

For more information go to the club website. Given the 1,000 tickets are certain to be snapped up quickly it will take Newcastle's season ticket holder tally to around the late 30,000 mark.
