Newcastle United players squash Anthony Gordon beef by welcoming winger from Everton

Newcastle United players appear to have reconciled their relationship with new boy Anthony Gordon. An official announcement confirmed the winger’s £45million arrival from Everton.

Earlier this season, Gordon was embroiled in an on-field row with Toon defenders Kieran Trippier and Fabian Schar. The ruckus angered Newcastle fans and had not been forgotten in the build-up to his big-money move.

However, it was all smiles as the 21-year-old met his teammates at the club’s Benton training ground. Eddie Howe and assistant manager Graeme Jones were two of the first people to welcome Gordon ahead of his medical.

Schar was also snapped alongside his former nemesis as they squashed the beef following October’s confrontation. Miguel Almiron - a player competing for the same position as Gordon - could be seen watching in from the background.

Toon number nine Callum Wilson could not help but stir the pot on Instagram. The 30-year-old posted “if you can’t beat 'em, join 'em” on his story alongside a picture of Schar and Gordon’s bust-up.

Kieran Trippier will likely captain the youngster should he make his Newcastle debut against West Ham United next weekend. The right-back, too, could nod resist a cheeky nod to their altercation while greeting the £45million man…
