Newcastle United owners send supporters '12th man' message ahead of Carabao Cup final

Newcastle United owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has called upon the club's supporters to 'turn Wembley into St. James' Park' when they arrive for the Carabao Cup Final tomorrow afternoon.

The Magpies are preparing for their first domestic cup final since 1999 and will face Manchester United in what is sure to be a clash of epic proportions between two sides desperate for the taste of silverware once again.

Now the club's owners are telling supporters they must become the team's '12th man' when they travel down to London on Sunday, claiming they must 'sing their hearts out and wave their scarfs'.

The Newcastle co-owner took to social media to send his message, even tagging in Magpies fan group Wor Flags as a way of getting more supporters on board.

He wrote: "To all our away fans who have travelled to London, let’s turn Wembley into St James’ Park tomorrow. Sing your hearts out and wave those scarfs. We are the 12th man on that pitch. @nufc #nufc #CarabaoCupFinal @worflags @jamiereuben @PIF_en HWTL."

Since the successful takeover that Ghodoussi was a part of back in October 2021, the Magpies have looked like a different club, with the club's connection to its fans seemingly healed thanks in part to their fantastic on-pitch performances.
